Video Poker is a beloved game that is able to be gambled on in casinos throughout the globe, or alternatively at home on your computer, through a net connection. The rules are absolutely simple and consist of the player trying to get the best mixture of cards as you can in order to acquire money. In this respect it is very similar as a classic game of poker, minus the involvement with any other players. Of course, methods used in a real-life game of poker, such as tricking, will be useless in Video Poker.
The game of Electronic Poker starts when the player inserts credits (whether it’s tokens, credit slips or cash) into the machine and presses the draw button. A hand of 5 cards will be "dealt" on the screen.
The Video Poker game also has hold buttons, and gamblers will need to now decide which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the player would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they want, whether it is all or none.
After the bettor has decided on which cards he wishes to keep, they should press ‘draw’, which will mean that any new cards are needed they will be given out. The game is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands shown on the pay out schedule.
Typically, the lowest succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money getting larger for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It is obvious that the payout schedule can change from game to game, so that discerning players are able to choose the most beneficial machine each time.
As soon as the initial round has completed, the player can either choose to continue on in an attempt to increase their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that has been won. Further, a few versions of the game give the player an opportunity to double their profits, in which situation a further hand is played. There are also variations among individual machines, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other varying elements to increase playability.
