Electronic Poker is a popular game that can be played in casinos across the world, or alternatively at your house on your PC, through a net account. The rules are very simple and consist of the player attempting to achieve the best mixture of cards possible in order to win money. On this account it is much the same as a classic game of poker, without the line of contact with any other players. Of course, methods employed during a real-life game of poker, such as tricking, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.
The game of Video Poker starts when the bettor inserts credits (whether it is tokens, credit slips or cash) into the machine and pushes the deal button. A hand of 5 cards will then be "given out" on the video screen.
The Electronic Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and gamblers should now decide which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the player wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they wish, from all to none.
After the player has decided on which cards he wishes to keep, they should press ‘draw’, at which point any fresh cards are handed out if desired. The hand is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the payout schedule.
Generally, the lowest winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money increasing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It should be known that the payout schedule can range from machine to machine, so that skillful gamblers are able to select the most beneficial machine each and every instance.
Once the initial round has played out, the player can either decide to continue on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any cash that has been won. Further, a few versions of the game allow the bettor a chance to double their winnings, in which situation a further round is played. There are also variations among specific machines, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other differing elements to increase playability.
